PM Modi Assures Fulfillment of Dreams That Were Unfulfilled for Last 70 Years in Jammu

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Jammu on April 20, 2024, and launched several development projects worth ₹32,500 crore and distributed appointment letters to about 1,500 newly recruited government employees of Jammu and Kashmir. He also interacted with the beneficiaries of various schemes as part of the ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Jammu’ programme. The prime minister assured the people of Jammu and Kashmir that their dreams of the last 70 years would be fulfilled in the coming years.

PM Modi also launched or laid the foundation stone of projects worth ₹13,500 crore across the country. He was received at the Jammu airport by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Minister Jitendra Singh, and prominent BJP leaders, including J-K unit president Ravinder Raina.

People in large numbers from across Jammu and Kashmir had thronged the Maulana Azad Stadium for the event. PM Modi said that it was imperative in this age of text, tweet, and “Google guru” that the new generation is not weaned away from gaining serious knowledge. He also asserted that the voice of India along with Indian products is becoming more global with the country now enjoying a stronger presence at world bodies.

The prime minister also hailed the decision of the Supreme Court to hold valid the Centre’s 2019 decision to abrogate Article 370, removing the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. He said the top court has further emboldened the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”. He said the dreams of people would no longer be the “prisoners of the past” and would be all about the “possibilities for the future”.

Security has been tightened in Jammu ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Palli village on April 24, 2024, on the occasion of Panchayati Raj Diwas. The police have said that the killed terrorists could be a part of a “big conspiracy” to sabotage PM Modi’s visit to the union territory. – The Blaze Times
