The Indian Embassy in France, in a statement on [X], highlighted the monumental occasion, emphasizing the implementation of PM @narendramodi’s announcement and the broader mission of expanding UPI’s influence globally.

Understanding UPI’s Significance: The UPI, India’s cutting-edge mobile-based payment system, empowers users to conduct round-the-clock transactions through a virtual payment address tailored by the customer. This innovative system consolidates multiple bank accounts into a single mobile application, seamlessly integrating various banking features, fund routing, and merchant payments.

India-France Collaboration in UPI Implementation: In 2023, India and France, through a joint statement, committed to fostering a thriving digital ecosystem and collaborative initiatives for the benefit of their citizens. This commitment materialized in an agreement between NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL) and France’s Lyra Collect to introduce UPI in France and Europe.
